In Northern Uganda and the West Nile region, communities continue to rebuild after years of disruption - and Haven for Humanity Uganda (HHU) is walking alongside them with a bold, holistic approach to healing and dignity.
Founded in 2019, HHU was sparked by a defining moment: founder Gladies encountered a severely malnourished child and recognized that this was not an isolated case, but a systemic crisis affecting entire families and communities. What began as emergency support has grown into a community-led movement focused on long-term transformation.

What HHU Is Solving
HHU exists because many families face interconnected challenges:
child malnutrition
poverty and displacement
lack of access to healthcare
psychosocial distress
unstable household income
Instead of offering short-term aid, HHU builds lasting solutions that strengthen families from the inside out.
A Holistic Model Built for Real Life
HHU operates through four integrated pillars:
Health, Wellness & Nutrition
Socio-Economic Empowerment
Psychosocial Support & Family Strengthening
Education, Empowerment & Prevention
This approach ensures families are not only surviving - they are rebuilding with dignity, resilience, and opportunity.

Milestones That Reflect Real Impact
HHU’s work has reached thousands through:
medical outreaches
nutrition treatment and prevention
savings groups and income generation
family support and child protection initiatives
community education and radio programming
HHU has also provided free treatment for hundreds of children suffering from malnutrition, demonstrating how community-led solutions can produce measurable change.

The Road Ahead
HHU is expanding its work through a proposed Nutrition and Family Strengthening Initiative in Zombo District, focusing on:
malnutrition prevention
early childhood development
parenting groups
economic resilience
Their vision is clear:
A future where families live with stability, dignity, and opportunity - not survival alone.
HHU is building communities where healing is possible, strength is restored, and families are empowered to thrive.
Watch how collaboration multiplies impact. Follow their journey.
