In Northern Uganda, trauma is not just a story of the past - it lives in everyday lives. Stress Clinic Uganda is responding to that reality with a bold, community-led approach to mental health that is practical, compassionate, and deeply rooted in local needs. Founded in 2023, Stress Clinic is on a mission to make mental health care accessible, affordable, and stigma-free - especially for marginalized communities affected by war, poverty, and displacement.

The Problem They’re Solving

Mental health services in Northern Uganda are scarce, expensive, and often misunderstood. Many people suffer in silence, without support, while social and economic pressures deepen the impact of trauma. Stress Clinic Uganda is tackling this gap by bringing mental health care into communities where it’s needed most - through counseling, mentorship, and community-based support.

What They Do

Stress Clinic Uganda provides a wide range of mental health and wellbeing services, including:

  • Individual and group counseling

  • Mentorship and life skills support

  • Digital mental health support via WhatsApp and YouTube

  • School-based support and trauma-informed programming

  • Livelihood programs that help families rebuild stability

  • Peacebuilding and community reconciliation initiatives

Their work blends clinical care with community development - because healing isn’t just personal, it’s social.

Milestones That Show Their Impact

Stress Clinic Uganda’s growth has been rapid and meaningful:

  • 1,200+ youth reached

  • 500+ individuals supported in recovery

  • 309 youth trained in peacebuilding

  • 90 households empowered through agribusiness

  • 1,000+ children supported in schools

These numbers reflect a team that is not only providing services, but also building systems of support that last.

Why This Matters

Stress Clinic Uganda doesn’t just treat trauma - they help communities rebuild the structures that prevent it from returning. Their work strengthens resilience, restores hope, and creates pathways for long-term recovery.

What’s Next

The future of Stress Clinic Uganda is ambitious and exciting:

  • expanding mental health access through digital platforms

  • launching an AI-powered mental health app

  • scaling community programs across Northern Uganda

  • normalizing mental health conversations and reducing stigma

Their vision is clear: mental health care should be a right, not a luxury.

Keep up with their work and witness the momentum building.
